What we are after here are the Omega-3 fatty acids in oily fish that are widely considered to be the best “good” fat. Tuna, salmon, halibut, as well as walnuts and flaxseeds are great sources of this super fat and can all help reduce your bad cholesterol. Make an emotional and physical commitment to completing your goal! Goals are not achieved if you’re not committed 100% to making them reality. Your goal has to be important enough that you’re willing to commit time, energy and money to making it reality. On a scale of 1 – 10, ask yourself how important is this goal? Why is it important? How will achieving this goal change life for the better?
Second, eating breakfast gives you energy for the rest of the day. Don’t forget: you spent 7 to 8 hours sleeping. While asleep, your body was fasting. A healthy meal in the morning will replenish your energy stores and help you to feel alive and alert.
Research among 9 to 12 year olds has shown that a breakfast with a low glycemic index (low GI) — that is, wholegrain bread — combined with protein keeps them satisfied much longer. Children eating a more standard breakfast that has a high GI (white bread / toast, sugary cereals, etc.), get hungry much more quickly, snack more frequently and have greater problems controlling their weight now and as adults.
When you feel positive you feel light and joyful and aren’t depressed. You bounce out of bed in the morning and into the shower to get ready for a great day. You sing along with the radio while you have a healthy breakfast and feel that life is good. You are full of expectations for the wonderful day you are going to have.
You might start off your day with an apple, some fat-free milk, and a whole wheat english muffin with peanut butter. Smoothies are also good choices. Skipping breakfast increases over-eating at lunch time, resulting in packing on extra carbs and fat. And this causes sluggishness and tiredness for the remainder of the day.
